For more than 40 years, I have helped business owners gain confidence in their financial systems, understand their numbers, and make informed decisions for the future. My experience spans bookkeeping, tax preparation, accounting systems, and financial management, giving me a practical understanding of the challenges small businesses face every day.
I began my accounting career in the 1980s at a small bookkeeping firm, where I learned the fundamentals of manual accounting systems. I later expanded my expertise while working with two large accounting and tax firms. In 2001, I founded adding technology with a vision of helping small businesses implement and manage effective accounting systems through consulting, training, and ongoing support. What started as a sole proprietorship grew steadily over the years and was incorporated in 2017.
I believe that accounting should do more than track transactions—it should provide business owners with the information they need to make confident decisions. Whether I am helping a client set up a new accounting system, streamline processes, resolve bookkeeping issues, or prepare for tax season, my goal is to provide clear guidance, reliable support, and solutions that fit their unique needs.
I am committed to continuous professional development and hold certifications from the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB), along with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online Advanced certifications. In 2026, I earned my Enrolled Agent (EA) credential, allowing me to provide tax preparation and representation services in addition to accounting support. This enables clients to benefit from comprehensive accounting and tax services under one roof.
Outside of work, I am passionate about animal rescue and veterinary care for pets in need. This commitment is deeply personal and stems from my own experience growing up and facing hardship alongside my loyal dog. Those experiences shaped my values and continue to inspire my dedication to helping vulnerable animals find care, safety, and loving homes.
When I am not working, you can usually find me reading crime novels, watching British television, or planning my next travel adventure. I enjoy ziplining, but some of my favorite memories are the road trips I shared with my beloved dogs.
I am committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and supported.
My journey with adding technology started in 2017 as a contract worker, and I have been fortunate to grow alongside the company. I became an employee shortly thereafter and a part owner in 2019. As Co-Owner, Vice President, and Operations Manager, I enjoy solving problems, improving workflows, and helping clients keep their finances organized and running smoothly.
My friendship with Natalie goes back nearly 30 years. We first met while working at a publishing company, where Natalie managed the accounting department and I worked in marketing. After taking a decade away from the workforce to raise my three children, I was excited to return to a professional role by joining addtech.
Outside of work, I am an avid marathon runner and love exploring new cities, historic architecture, and museums. I am the proud mother of three college-aged children and a beloved cat. Music is another passion of mine, and I enjoy traveling to see my favorite bands perform live.
As a Type 1 diabetic and the parent of a child with Type 1 diabetes, I am deeply committed to supporting diabetes research and advocacy. I regularly participate in fundraising efforts to help advance research and provide resources for those affected by the disease. In my spare time, I also enjoy reading and writing a blog focused on running and living with Type 1 diabetes.
I joined adding technology in 2023 as the Office Manager. In my role, I oversee administrative operations, support business development and marketing, and manage accounting-related tasks for our clients. I also develop and maintain step-by-step procedures, training materials, and policy documentation to help ensure consistency and efficiency across the organization.
One of the things I enjoy most about my position is the variety it offers and the opportunity to apply creativity in many aspects of my work. I particularly enjoy creating training manuals and videos, documenting detailed processes, and finding ways to improve workflows.
Before joining adding technology, I worked in the construction industry, where I gained experience in project management and accounting. I also served as a legal assistant, further developing my organizational and problem-solving skills.
Outside of work, I enjoy crafting, decorating, and trivia, as well as spending quality time with family and friends. I also have a passion for travel, particularly throughout Central and South America, where I enjoy experiencing new cultures, meeting new people, and exploring their beautiful landscapes.
I joined adding technology in May 2024 as a Client Accounting Specialist. I work closely with clients to help them maintain accurate financial records, navigate accounting challenges, and better understand the financial information they rely on to make informed business decisions. I enjoy building strong client relationships and finding practical solutions that help businesses operate more efficiently.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Accounting from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Before joining adding technology, I spent more than 10 years with a large public accounting firm in Santa Barbara, where I specialized in income tax preparation and financial statement audits. That experience gave me a strong technical foundation while strengthening my ability to manage complex client needs, balance competing priorities, and consistently meet demanding deadlines.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my daughter and staying active through strength training and hot yoga. I also enjoy woodworking, home improvement projects, gardening, and playing the drums. I appreciate opportunities to keep learning, whether through my work, personal interests, or tackling a new challenge.
